Bridger:
Hi,
Just thought Id post and say I've just got the demo and am getting into the game. The initial size and awe of the possibilities is refreshing, and once over the low-graphics (got used to SupCom) in favour of game substance I think I'm going to really like the game, infact I'm hoping to get two other friends I convinced to do the tutorials last night on tonight for a MP (they seem equally intrigued).
The tutorials helped a lot and also the mini-guide on your website, so I'm hoping that when I play a "real" campaign instead of the dummy one in the tutorial I will last a wee while.
Keep up the good work and I hope to be able to help out where possible in the future.
Bridger

Sorry for the troll; thought of a thing either the beer confused me on or it wasnt too clear in the tutorial. I dont know if anyone agrees ;)
In the tutorials, there is the instructions about build queues and looping construction, and you are asked to make 5 fighters and 1 bomber (or the other way around). As the tutorial instructions deal with CTRL/SHIFT clicking, I mistakenly added 5 and 5 and the tutorial didn't progress. Perhaps this text can be expanded to have multiple lines, to better (clearly) separate the instructions?
Of course, may just be me :)
And I run on 1920x1200, and the "AI level" stuff, I starred for ages trying to find it at the top right, and it was top centre next to the resources ;)
Please dont think I'm picking at things, I just thought these small comments may help polish the tutorial for other new players. So far I'm impressed :)

Awesome! Thanks for stopping by and letting us know. You can also try out the multiplayer using the trial (for an hour) -- it really adds a lot, there's nothing better than playing co-op in my opinion.

Bear in mind that while the real campaign in the trial is limited to 1 hour, they typically last 10-12 hours in the full game. Plenty to do there, and you won't see all the ship types you can use-- even with three players playing together -- for 4+ campaigns at the least. And it takes 13+ games to play against all the AI types. There's definitely a lot to do, and we're adding more all the time! :)

Thanks, we really appreciate that! Feedback is always welcome.

Again, we really don't consider this trolling around here -- we can't always take every suggestion, but we read them all and carefully consider them all.

You are the first to mention this one (maybe the beer helps, like you say, haha ;) ), however I'll definitely give the wording a review and make sure it is as clear as it can be. If there's room to make it a two-liner I will, I suspect that will work well. We wish to support the inebriated player base as best we can! ;)

Oh, great point -- I will work on the wording there. Thanks!

No worries, we've got threads all over the Internet with people suggesting things, and it's really helping make this an even more polished experience with something to please everyone (some people want more zoom, some people want more automation here or there, new options, etc). Everyone has a different background and different preferences, and we want to make it fun and comfortable for as many people as we can.
If you come up with anything more, please don't hesitate to let us know, and thanks again for your interest in the game!

well, with the hour limit I will prob be buying the game later tonight anyway - I have a good feeling, plus I want a break from EvE ;) SupCom is just too monotinous atm, however its also a different breed of game too, if you understand my thinking ;)
As with most people, I rushed the tutorials to get into the action as quickly as possible, so the comments are that of my own and may be my mis-understanding. I cant have done that badly as I grasped the concepts enough to grab the first two planets in the campaign tutorial.
I really like the missile silo and the emp - although I went blind with the white flash, :) LOL - was that awesome I told my m8 also playing his trial to build it and send it through the wormhole. I think the 30 second thing needs to be a little longer - as it seemed far far too short by the time you readjusted your vision, got back to your planet to send troops thru to engage the disabled enemy (though I now think I should have done the TAB key to move quicker)....though I bet most people when they launch their first EMP/nuke will want to witness the glory :)
And as for posting my thanks for what looks to be a great game, let me thank you for showing keen customer support by responding personally to these ramblings :) o7

Definitely two different breeds of game, despite the similarities in the control mechanics. I enjoyed SupCom for a very long time (over a year, counting FA as well), but the short-form games wore on me after a while since I only play co-op against the AI, not competitive skirmishes. Sorian's AI Mod is great for FA, but last time I played with it (over a year ago), it was causing a lot of slowdown to the game, to the point where we were only able to play at 1/3 speed. That's what finally ended it for us, but the fact remains that it's an amazing game.

That's great! Did you finish the campaign tutorial, by the way? It shows you a number of good techniques that are unique to AI War, and which will really help you in real campaigns.

Haha, awesome -- it is retina-searing to a certain extent, isn't it? :) I don't think it will really hurt anyone, but its a good lesson to not look directly at the nuclear blast. If you look away right before the blast (as you would have to in real life), there's plenty of time to do your followup attack -- I think if I adjusted it longer, speed-minded players would complain. Right now its kind of at a compromise length. Glad those are a hit, anyway!

Of course! My pleasure.
