But the Turtle AI doesn't send waves. If you were to replace it with a Neinzul or Raider type theoretically it should be much more aggressive.

On a different note, if you want a lot of pain you could also enable "no wave warnings".

forgot to mention, i picked 8 homeworlds.

I started with two wave sending AI's but i couldn't escape from the homeworld, the waves came in too quickly so it wasn't very fun to try and advance. One wave sending AI is more than enough when the AI sends like 50 exo waves everytime the fallen spire counter reaches 100%. Not counting the 100 exo waves it sends when you build a hub!

A hint to help with those exos.  Create bleeder runways if you can.  Have your hardened shield world take the wave defenses, but make a 'runway' for the exos to come down with long range turrets, minefields, and fortresses.  When you get it working right you'll usually only be handling the big ships on the shieldworld as your bleeders clean off all the little stuff as it passes through.  Just over-build short range defenses on the first bleeder world, a lot of smaller fleets will 'break off' and go for the fortresses/snipers/etc.
... and then we'll have cake.

Hmm interesting! Sounds more economical than my current strategy.

I encase the wormhole with around 40 shields so there is a small tiny circle the AI ships can fit into. The wormhole is then surrounded by Spire warships and beam cannons and area effect turrets. I have at the moment 3 of these planets and when one falls i fall back to the next one.

Currently got the 4th hub about to be built but the AI is throwing 20k waves at me and it's starting to bite.
