Updates for the recent Starship changes are in progress.
Starships updated for 6.013, other stuff not up yet.

@Keith: The Bomber starship description needs updating. It still says it is unable to hit small targets which contradicts the tweak made to allow it to do so in 6.013.
Spire Starship Mk IV has a typo, its damage is 4,300,000, it should be 4,320,000 when multiplied out. Not that 20,000 damage matters when it's doing 4million.

Finally got around to doing the Spirecraft, but the Martyr Mk I is not available for construction, intentional?

Ancient Shadows stuff up next, but that's pretty much all that's left.

Well, the gravity change has to be updated to.

Loading torpedo.  Clear the range!

I believe it will enter stand-off attack range of the target (your work schedule) noonish on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hello.
There are 2 mechanics that right now have a thorough mathematical explanation somewhere on the forums (and in changelog), but not in the categorised wiki:
1)AI planet reinforcements
2)AI Hacking response

Can we have those? I would also like some tag or category marker added to each article that gives in-depth explanation to the inner workings of some mechanics.

Right now we have

http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Cross_Planet_Attacks#How_Do_Cross-Planet_Attacks_Work.3F
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_How_Exogalactic_Strikeforces_Work
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_AI_Techs (kinda)

The plan has always been to have a comprehensive wiki.

(I've got an entire front page redesign in my mind for this, just need to actually do it.)

The problem is as each ship page is individual, I'm having difficulty just keeping the ship pages updated, much less get started on the mechanics and numbers of the game itself.

I'm currently trying to streamline how that works, but no promises yet.

Being impatient, I've written a shell script to translate csv into wiki tables - and tabulated all the Shadow Ship Modules.

One question:
Where are the ammo types and per-hull bonuses stored? It's not in the Reference Exports.csv, and I can't seem to get anything with Ctrl+Shift+F8 nowadays.

Speaking of ammo types, has anyone seen this page recently? Its rather...broken, I guess would be the best word.

Ideally, I would like to replace that with something of this nature:

http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Ship_Stats_Table

However, a lot of ammunition types have their own bonuses so it's not so feasible.

Actually, there's three copies of that page already: :P
 -Ammunition_Types
 -Ammunition_Types_and_Immunities
 -Ammunition_Types_and_Immunitues

Looking good!

Zharmad - are you sure the DPS for the Plasma Siege Cannon is correct?  The DPS on the export spreadsheet for Plasma Siege Starships is incorrect, and I presume the same issue would affect the cannon.  See this post from Keith and my response.  Note there are actually three relevant values: (1) DPS against a single target, (2) DPS against a group of targets (at least one of which must be large enough to target), and (3) DPS when firing at a forcefield with many ships under it.

Also, the DPS values for the Photon Lance are wrong, as they don't consider the two second firing time.  The whole firing cycle on all those weapons (including the primary weapon of all the Spire shadow ships) is two seconds greater than the reload time.

Heh.

I am still working on this, but I'm redoing everything from scratch to automate multiple ship updates. Right now I have to manually update every ship page individually when change happen. I've figured out how to make one update do multiple ships but it requires a lot of back end code to setup.

So it's going to be a bit before I have anything ready to go.  :-\

However, what is next after that is the front page.

By doing the front page next, that will start to solidify the structure of the wiki so that people can see where pages are missing or need editing, rather then this master plan that's all locked up in my head.

I'm currently mulling over how to change it. I'm currently thinking something like tiles, probably 3 across and about 10 rows of text high?

(I'll see if I can throw something up as a demo later today.)

Probably similar in terms of topics to what is there now, with the addition of the ship stats reference stuff that I've been working on.

So, anyone else have thoughts on what the front page should look like?

I'm sure they are incorrect for the same reason, since I'm printing the table directly from the export-data, minus the ammo type and bonus hull breakdown. :D

= = =
As for the front page, I'm more inclined towards having main column + smaller nav column. The Nav column contains the main mechanics summaries and links (what things do), and the main column containing general content, such as objectives and FAQs (how/why they're there).  95% of the time I want something really specific from the wiki like DPS comparisons for shadow-ship modules (hence table :P), and the remaining on what's being added.

EDIT: Here, have a sandbox! The easiest way I think is to encase the two segments in div tags..
http://www.arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_New_Main

EDIT2: Added the current logoes for each expansion and started to flesh out rough design using table boxes.

Hey, there's an error on the Spire Maw wiki page.

It says
Quote
Since version 5.036, a Spire Maw's swallow rate has depended on its mark level. Mark I/II/III/IV/V Maws can swallow one ship every 5/4/3/2/1 seconds. The number of swallows per minute for a full cap of Mark I/II/III/IV/V Maws is thus 60/120/180/240/300 swallows per minute.

This is a contradiction.

Either the swallow rate is actually
60/75/100/150/300 per minute

or the average delay is actually
5/2.5/1.67/1.25/1 seconds per swallow
