to be honest the more you demand the changes the more i hope they never come to be :)
The game has and is going through extensive testing/balance and although i sure some things are not perfect I'm also sure that the community (as a whole) and designer know what is exploitable/unbalanced/flat out dumb more then you ever will.

this isnt to say that talking about it hurts

One thing i have never tried is the exploiting of the map size (and this doesnt just apply to teleporters you know) because,  to be honest, i never thought of it.

One thing the game has going for it is the story (which you mention). Your fighting against 2 AI's which arnt even super advanced (relative to some fictions AI). So when you "exploit" it seems interwoven with the games mechanics/story.

Play on level 8 and try to use every exploit you know and see if you can win most of the time.. If you win almost every time then yes its prob overpowered. But if u still lose 8/10 games then the exploit isnt as bad as you think ;)

The whole point is that you, as a human, ARE able to exploit while the super powerful (in shear strength) AI can only react in a fairly simple fashion. Your supposed to be able to have an (cunning) advantage over the AI.

edit: and again this isnt to say that things needn't  be discussed.. I'm sure that there are plenty of things that would just make the game too easy and could ruin it. But just deciding that something is wrong because it seems wrong at first glance doesnt cut it.

Exploits do not win games

Actually , it just applies to teleporters since you go at a speed of 1 when you're far from center.
I believe teleporting is different from unlimited fuel or unlimited ammo as they can be solar generated "hurrah for solar power"

Please explain how the games teleport engine functions and why it is related to supply because I don't have a clue.

Dude, it's a visual function, don't take it too seriously :o

Okay, if you want it, using the teleporting ships will cause imbalance if out of supply because first, teleporting ships are now unbalanced, the delay from it firing to getting there is basically none and if wanted to escape, it would be tremendously op

what

edit:
if they are so overpowered then take over the galaxy with them multiple times on a higher difficulty setting. I'm almost sure it wont work (not without actually using everything else available to you just like you have to with all other ships)

You have to also realize that you have extremely low ship count with the things.. and they cant even destroy alot of important things like uhm.. the turrets blocking all the wormholes? I havnt looked but dont they also have a fairly high resource cost? Could be wrong on that

Now maybe the teleport/map size thing is a problem. that i wouldnt know. But i dont even think that would be a huge problem

For a player who plays all CPA waves, I think they're about the right balance.  They're good for putting out spotfires and solid in offence too (with micromanagement).

The thing with these debates is that a lot of ships' balance is affected by whether you play fast & dangerous or not.  The teleporting units are much worse in that mode since it's more difficult to micromanage them such that they don't get hit.  On the other hand, 'artillery' type units like frigates and dreadnoughts are much worse in normal mode because they just don't shoot fast enough to be useful.  I don't think you can properly balance ships while fast & dangerous is optional: ideally I'd like to see the game pick either normal or fast & dangerous as the only mode and balance all ships accordingly.

Another thing affecting the power of teleporting units is the type of map you play.  The more hops it is between your various frontlines, the better they are.
