is tehre any shortcut keys to select all attacking units in one galaxy at one go?

I'm always zooming out, and manually drag through the whole screen to do this. Is there a shortcut key instead?

I don't think so, but you could put all of your attacking force in a control group ahead of time. I use control group 0 to select all of my forces, and 1-9 to select specific groups of ships. To add groups to a control group, use ctrl + #, and then just push the # to select them. The only problem this way is if you have parasites, then the new ships won't be in the control group. Also I have to re-define each control group after pretty much every battle since I have to replace my losses with new ships.

By Galaxy you mean planet right?

If so I had the same problem at first. The thing I didn't knew was when square selecting all units is if you do it twice it will select stuff like Force Fields, Rally Posts and Engineers which screwed everything up when I ordered all that to travel away  ;D.

Until of course I found the amazing "Ctrl + ," (Select all military units at current planet (idle or not).)

Check page 40 of the manual for more delight  ;).

As far as I know if you need to select more than all military units in the planet, like MRS/Engineers/Scouts/Mobile Builders/Transport Ships/Force Fields etc, you have to [Ctrl+,] to select all military ships idle or not then [Shift + Left Click] on the support ships / Structures you need -on the Planet Summary- to add them to your selection (I do it to select my forces and include Mobile Repair Stations).

On the other hand you can also [Ctrl+,] then [Alt + Left Click] on the ships -on the Planet Summary- you want to remove from your selection (I do it when i want to separate my main force from specific ships I want to send after or will use for other purposes like Raid/Bomber/Siege Starships).
