Special Forces and Riot Starships

8 Riot Starships might not be much in this screenshot (I've been doing a good job of keeping the special forces dead!), but minus a few fleetships the entire special forces seems to consist of the things.  It's to the point where I can tell if a group of ships is special forces or not simply by looking to see if there are multiple Riot Starships.  I don't think I've ever seen anything else starship-wise.

Yeah, apparently it has been added at some point in the near past, that Special Forces sometimes get Rior Starships. Except now like half the SF is made of these. I think its either a bug or a serious miscalculation in the code.

this isnt realy a bug despite how annoying it is and later on you will start to notice that artillery ai ships and if playing spire then spire ships tag along alot as well. its a challenge running down 36 riot 18 artillary and 6 each of the shadow ships backed up by 1700 more stuff.

Yeah, I've noticed that the AI likes its Riots, often to the exclusion of other things.

I remember a while back where they changed the code to have a proportional number of starships for each wave, as opposed to a single starship and a crapload of ships. I think that the special forces are gaming the system by just buying starships, since it seems to get a little more leeway in what's assigned.

On a side note, Riots plus hydras in the special forces is a whole new kind of infuriating. Might as well just throw your fleet away.
