I'm not sure the translocate is good enough to make me stick with militaries, i'll have to test some more when i'm done with this game.
It would be cool if translocation always threw the target further away, and not randomly closer.

Yeah the big issues i have with the military translocation is they can fling enemies in terrible places (like in the middle of snipers or bombards or sieges or or or... sometimes causing more damage than they save) and also that it doesn't target the closest enemy eligible for translocation but rather chooses randomly.

Both problems could be addressed if the militaries translocated the nearer translocatable enemies but as it is, i consider logistics mk1 quite competitive with military mk3 since i can do twice as much damage to enemies moving at half speed, and i keep control over the engagement rather than randomly lose it. The planet wide decloaking is super great in some cases though, and once in a while translocation really shines when random is cooperative.

Hey, maybe another idea? Translocation either only translocating enemies farther than they were, or maybe pushing enemies straight back in a line from the translocater?

I think the mil-CC is fine as it is, any better and it would be OP. At least in respect to the other 2 regular type of CCs.

I  really hope this will be patched soon...
look at this funny attached picture, second border attak with thousand of blades... this time I can only win with nuke but I think I will wait for the patch.
By the way, tell me YES   ;D, the patch will adress the problem of massing blade during border aggression, is it correct? Because the ones around guard post are not a too big issue with attritioners...

I don't know. Unless the bug fixed is something REALLY big (like, the game does not start up or saves don't work at all big), they usually try to fix more than one issue per release, even if that one issue fixed corrects major balance issues. So I think there is going to be another "scan through the bug tracker and fix what we can" night before we get to see 5.010 pushed out.

But yea, I am also itching for a game. However, unless you choose the Spireling AI type, the chance of the AI getting Spire blade spawners as one of their first ship unlocks should be quite low, so you shouldn't be too scared to start a new game.

Are you making sure to choose a different map seed, a different starting point, or a different map type between your games? The AIs first unlocks will stay the same so long as those things (in addition to ship type availability and which expansions are turned on) remain the same. So if you got a game where the AI got blade spawners right off the bat, starting a new game with the same conditions will give you a game where the AI gets the same unlocks. (In fact, everything else about the initial state of the game will be the same as well)

If you are remembering to mix things up, it could be that you are that "lucky" ~1 in 200n (where n is the number of games in a row where you got hit by early game blade spawners) player. Yea, the chance is really low, but not impossible.

EDIT: Stupid approximate symbol (character 0x2248 in Unicode) confusing this site's font and/or this site's character encoding. Used the regular '~' instead

Hey Techsy don't misunderstand me! I trust what you said, I was just yelling at my bad chance since I got one of the few very unbalanced situation not yet addressed! I'm very confident that it will be soon!
