Possible icon problems??

Just wondering if someone can let me know if anyone else is getting this.  I start a game, doesn't matter what expansions are activated, and pressing F1 cycles through the different mark levels of the ships on the panel on the right side of the screen.  Three ships, AI carrier, AI Laser Guardian, and AI Raider Guardian show up as plain grey boxes on all five mark screens.

Interesting, sounds like missing image files or perhaps a bug in the texture-layering code that puts those together (rather than doing multiple draws per box every time).  If you get a chance to log this in the bug tracker ( www.arcengames.com/mantisbt ), that would be great

Oh, and in the case of a bug like this, it really helps if we know the exact version and exactly how you got it (steam version, impulse, direct-bought, etc), as it may be a problem with the actual distribution rather than the program itself.

my up to date install from the beta link has no missing icons

Reported it in Mantis  Went back in and added version 4.000 and Steam.

I'm also on Steam with today's 4.000 and seeing the same exact thing.  It's just a completely flat untextured square.

It occurs both on the F1 panels and when the ship is actually on the "playing field" as the 'far zoom icon' representation.


I compared it with a non-Steam install... The relevant folders are simply missing from RuntimeData/GalaxyView.  I didn't check any of the other folders since I don't have Araxis/BeyondCompare here at home.

(edit) Copying the folders from the non-steam install to the steam install fixes the issue.
