Scouts being swallowed, and other low cap units
« on: January 09, 2011, 04:32:44 pm »
So, in my latest game I've had a bunch of scouts swallowed, this means I can't scout until they rot in the stomach of some maw, which seems to take something like hours.

Is there's a way to self destruct them inside an enemy ship?

How long does it take for them to die? If it really is an hour, then that is a bug and needs to be reported.

Yea I think this time it really is bugging, some of them died ok but two of my scouts have been at 88% for at least two in-game hours now... too late to do any reporting now but maybe I'll get to it tomorrow =)

Seems similar to those cold storage issues that the devs have been fighting ever since maws have been introduced.

BTW, what is the cold storage anyways? I never got that.

its ships that are offline because they cant be maintained by ai, i do think they come only online if u directly attack them or command station or something near by.
AI War - even the smallest units can make all the difference no matter how weak they are still quite capable of taking the hits. if it can Kill and receive damage then it worth its time other wise if it cant kill and cant take the damage for the higher surviving ships then it is worthless.

That's a way to save some "horsepower" of your PC. When you alert them, they go online and do their stuff. Just be careful to NOT poke something that is surrounded with 50 Zenith Bombards.

I made a post about this in the patch thread - was waiting for a reply to see if it was normal behaviour before I put it up on mantis - no has put it up already, right? I checked, but couldn't spot anything, will make a report now.
