Is there some way to have a less .. colorful Theme?

Lo, this theme is really BAD for color blind, do not like (I can't tell apart whether a link is bold or not)

Can i somehow change it for me personally back to the standard? Because that was rather nice, this dark BG stuff really does not do it for me.

Edit: Ah i just found that option in profile settings, nevermind ;)

You can change it back under Look and Layout Preferences in your profile settings.

I wonder if the forum default should be returned to the old style (which I'm currently using, although I switched before the current default received more changes) until we can mess with it more. Themes should probably be perfected before made the default. :)

I am so used to the sweet blueish standard theme i don't want to miss it ;)

Well, I can understand wanting to have the option to switch to something else -- glad you found that, eRa.

Lars:  But I don't see this theme as being not-perfected.  It was a theme on the main SMF site (not all of which are wonderful), I tweaked it until it was the way I wanted it, and then released it.  There have been a few suggestions since from Admiral, but that's about it.  So I don't feel like this is majorly nonfunctional or something, I was just thinking how much better it is a second ago actually. ;)

eRa, any help you can provide on what would make this easier for you to see would be very welcome.  Not being colorblind myself, it's hard for me to know exactly what the parameters are here for you.

Note:  I'd love to hear from anyone else who doesn't like this, and what sort of thing they would like to see instead (e.g., "just turn it back to default" or "something with similar colors to the default" or "I hate whatever feature of the new thing.").

If it's a prevailing feeling, I'll go ahead and switch back the default for now and then we can work on a new theme as a side thing.

It's looking better since the last time I saw it, actually. At this point, the main thing I would change would be the animated buttons up top, which I really dislike; I'm not a fan of mystery meat buttons, nor the animation/resizing that they go through. Aside from that, it's not so bad. :)

Well, anything without green red or yellow text or black BG ;D

I am just not really a fan of black BG's on sites - mind ya in games thats not a problem, but for browsing web-sites when they suddenly turn black with glowing bright text thats really annoying ^^

This grey/grey blue/blue standard theme is pretty much perfect

The animated buttons are.. just ugly (huge)

All right... I suppose I'll work on a new version that is based off the original one, since that is high visibility for everyone, and in general very functional and usable.

^^ Those old consoles with green text on a black background.  It's very pleasant to work with actually, and it's how I have my (virtual) terminals set up on my Linux system. :)

As for the default theme, I quite like it actually!

Ah, I see.  Yeah, I used to have an XT that I did programming on.  How exciting when I moved up to CGA!  I never missed the green text after that. :)

No! Change the new post icons back, these ones are nasty.

Actually, take the wormhole sprite, grey-scale it and use that as the no new posts icon. Use the green wormhole to represent unread posts.
