Enable Ancient Shadows in an existing game
« on: August 19, 2012, 12:11:47 pm »
I'm sure I remember reading there's some console command that will enable Ancient Shadows in a save-game from before it was released.  I realise all you get is the modular forts but... I want those forts!  If someone could provide a link or explanation I'd be grateful.

I checked the patch notes on the Wiki, but didn't find it after searching for "enable", "console", or "modular".  I think Keith explained how to do it on the forums some time.

Added support for the chatline command "cmd:activate expansion 4", which lets you turn on the expansion midway through the game.

It doesn't do much because the nebulae are added during mapgen and no mapgen stuff can be done after the game is started.  But it does make it possible to add champions to the game and to build modular fortresses.  And to get the new bonus types from ARS's (and the AI can get them from AIP unlocks).

Minotaur already quoted it, but the link I gave you would have taken you right to the update where it was added, and it was the third item down.
Edit, whoops, meant to link the wiki not the blog.

Gah, don't know how I missed it.  Thanks all for the responses.

Maybe this could be posted somewhere intuitive, perhaps the Wiki page?
