(kudos to keith for continuing the tradition of z-name being bizarrly fun.)
Surprisingly, however, Zolarizer, Zaralyzer, Zirror and Ziral Zhredder have never taken off as nicknames for those fleetships.

The thing is the Spire are the least dead of all of the factions really. You can't cover too much lore of dead people, unless they're secretly alive and doing really well.
It's not the Spire's fault that they're awesome and the stars of the best expansion. <_<

Color me racist, but the Spire are a bunch of soulless, colourless, boringly overpowered, ugly and far too common rocks.

At least the Zenith and Neinzul are interesting; visually and in terms of character  >:(

Arcen's next game should be a Spire dating sim. Single woman in her late 30s seeks stable, reliable rock boyfriend with luminescent skin. Interests include jewelry, sculpture and mining.

I sense innuendo in those interests.

Our thread-derails often impress me, but skipping the train through a multi-dimensional portal is fairly impressive.

The Spire would be pretty interesting if I could ever get all the lore out in a form you could encounter in the game, but the narrative stuff is very hard to do well (and impossible to do both well and time-efficiently).

So Hatoful boyfriend, but without the pigeons or earth-like background and with space stationy stuff (and glowing rock guys) instead?

Or perhaps closer to Analogue instead, since that game already has a space theme.

Yea, pretty much Hatoful.

Analogue doesn't really fit since it's not a dating sim, but Arcen games have never been known for adherence to genre conventions. Perhaps the protagonist discovers love on the way while doing something else, like overseeing the growth of the Spire colony in the Milky Way/working out the secrets of the Showdown Devices/running and expanding a Neinzul ranch.

I can't believe we're discussing this seriously

I think the Spire lore we already have is pretty good :) I rather like the FS journal entries (for instance, it was pretty interesting to note that Exaron's dialogue gets lengthier and less one-wordy as the campaign progresses and the translation facilities improve, something I only noticed recently).

Before that, Mineral: A Love Story.

...what, it makes perfect sense... a BBS love triangle between a young hacker, a rogue AI, and a fresh young pile of crystals. Hack the Gibson in this earth-shaking story of platetonic love!

How does one pun in text?

I'd say the main scene should be taking place aboard a spirecraft ram, to make it little bit more symbolic.

My favorite one was the Prison Architect thread. The actual game was discussed for maybe two pages?
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Why would any self-respecting shard look for a relationship with someone whose principle interests lie in your mutilation?  Why would I want my family jewels hanging around her neck?  Hacking bits off my handsome body?  Burrowing into my flesh just to see what's there?  I say, no! no! and no! to this woman's interests!

I can't think of a good rule to justify it, but there's definite temptation to order an orbital strike on the latter part of this thread.
