Info Box confusion
« on: May 15, 2010, 02:44:43 pm »
When the information box says something to the effect of

"15 AI progress if killed (AI only)"

Does that mean that the AI progress will be raised only if the AI kills that building? Because I notice that the Blackhole Machine and the building that slows all your ships down and prevents teleporting, also have this tag but I definitely get an AI increase when I destroy these buildings before I capture them.

It means that the AIP change only happens on death if the unit was controlled by the AI at the time :)

You should definitely try to capture those buildings.  If you leave them on the planet, and build your own command station you will capture them and they will be yours.

maybe changing the statement to "15 AI progress if killed (when AI controlled)" would be clearer

I think the proposed wording, or something similar, would be a little clearer.

I agree that's a wording improvement. I was also confused by the wording on this when I began playing. Although I figured it out from context and from hanging out on the forums, clearer text would be better.

Yeah, at the beginning I always thought that AIP would increase whenever I loose a command station mk1 and I didn't understand it. This should really be changed a bit.

Oh man I feel like a tool! This whole time I had that completely reversed. :o

I guess I shouldn't try so hard to protect mk 1 stations. I know that isn't a bad thing but some of the stunts I pulled trying to save one of those stations put my game in jeopardy so many times because I thought there was an AIP increase. Its funny, sometimes I noticed that there wasn't an increase and I thought it was some bug due to a pre-release update.

Wow, no wonder I lost that game to a One way Doormaster.
