EMP Mines do Paralysis damage?!
« on: June 10, 2014, 12:40:36 am »
After some testing about why emp mines were doing nothing to carriers, I found something out. It seems that EMP mines inflict paralysis damage, not EMP damage, despite the name. If this is intended, then I would reccomend a name change to Paralysis Mines, so as not to confuse people about what is really immune to them (like it did for me). If this is not intended, well, I guess bug report.

EDIT:
Tested by simply starting a game, surrounding wormholes with EMP mines, and waiting for wave. Saw that units had the paralysis timer countdown, not the EMP one.

All the fleetships whose names start with "Spire" are immune to paralysis, but not immune to EMPs (except Mark Vs, I presume).  It might be informative to see whether they're affected by EMP mines.  (Note the Spire Teleporting Leech also has mine immunity.)

In our multiplayer game, we inadvertantly tested. Spire ships are immune to EMP mines because they are immune to paralysis. So yea, it seems EMP mines' damage type (paralysis) is inconsistent with their name (EMP).
