Importing/exporting global control settings
« on: October 25, 2014, 04:40:47 am »
So I just deleted all of my global control settings by accidentally pressing the "Copy to disk" button when I was going to press the "Copy from disk" one. The game really should ask for a confirmation when pressing either or the two buttons. At the moment the game only asks when you want to import the settings. Which doesn't make any sense. It would be more logical to ask for the confirmation when exporting to avoid accidental overwriting.. like I just did. Now I have to go trough all of the controls including ship designs. lovably great.

In short: the game really should ask for a confirmation in both cases. When importing and exporting.

I'd rather have a revert or undo button than an extra button to click every single time.

That would work too.

I just keep a read-only backup copy of the settings file.  That way, whenever I screw it up too much, I can just revert.
