If You Could Overhaul One Minor Faction or Plot...

... which one, OTHER than Astro Trains, would it be, and why?  And what would you like to see?  Is there a fairly simple rebalance or change that you think would make your minor faction/plot of choice go from "meh" to" yeah!"?

(I'm excluding Astro Trains because this thread will probably be about nothing but them otherwise.)

Astro Trains got already a huge overhaul anyway (at first there was only one type of Astro Train).
Uhm, I think I would like to overhaul Roaming Enclaves. I played initially a lot with them but nowadays I exclude them because they get so annoying. Every few minutes you get an aggressive enclave at one of your planets and have to get rid of it.
I think they should be less "randomly". Currently they appear totally out of nowhere, friendly ones gather at your homeworlds, aggressive ones pop out on your planets and attack you.

True, but it seems like people still mostly dislike Astro Trains as they are.  But I will follow my own rule and not talk about Astro Trains here. <g>

So basically, slash how often the Roaming Enclaves spawn, at least at "normal" intensities?  That matches up with the tests I did with them a while ago, seemed like they were way too often at intensity 4, friendly and hostile alike.

That's more because Astro Trains are a pain the bottom of your body as because they are unbalanced. Which is exactly their purpose, being big, mean and annoying. It's in the end your fault if you want to play with them :-P

Yeah, basically that. And you are right, the amount of enclaves you get is insane. Sicne tehy aren't really that strong it's not shifting the game balance but it get's on my nerves after the first hour already.

Any sense of how often/many Enclaves you'd prefer to see at intensity 4?

I would say intensity level*number of enclaves every 30 hour into the game, so 4 means 4 enclaves are seeded across the entire galaxy.

Sorry, every 30 hours? Or every 30 minutes to 1 hour?  Big difference. :)

Every 30 minutes, sorry. 30 hours is even for an AI War game a little too long XD
I'm currently playing, so I'm a little distracted.

There was another major mf that bugged me but I cannot remember which one...
Maybe I should go through all and see which it was.

Maurauders. Why do they have to come from the edge of the map? EVERYTHING comes from wormholes, just not these little buggers. Why making that particular exception?

Resistance Fighters also come from the edge, along with stuff from a few plots (Counterattack Posts I think).  The Marauders and Resistance Fighters actually give the reason in their ship descriptions -- they're flying in from deep space with impulse engines rather than using warp tech. :)

Yeah, I know, but with every new expansion it seems more and more... outdatted.
It was soemthing exotic and different in the initial base game but it isn't anymore.

I'm sorry I know I have no right noising into something like this when I have maybe 1 percent knowledge of this game but I mean you've got warheads fighters space ships force fields and trains?! it just seems random as hell to me?.

They are not really "trains". They are cargo transporters (even if this is space, somehow you have to transport supplies between planets, it does not magical appear anywhere) that are also extremly powerful and nearly impossible to destroy. They have also various special abilities like tachyons (removes cloaking from ships in the system).
