idle speculation
« on: November 29, 2010, 03:23:50 pm »
I just got to thinking, how would AI War play at the moment if 'cross planet waves' caused all AI waves to spawn at the corresponding AIs home station, leaving the AI to figure out where they go, how they get there and where they attack instead of the current system of predictable spawning locations...

I can imagine slash & burning a deadzone between me and the AI accross the galaxy and fighting across a broad front as AI ships come in from all directions under AI control and hopelessly outmacro me with its multitasking while my APM burns a hole in the desk as I die of sleep deprivation.. I'll get my room-mate to wear a beard, beat me up and call himself Mazer Rackham and I'll answer only to Ender Wiggum

I thought people didn't like long-term "floating" threat ;D

That threat has nice tooltip.. I had a bit of trouble figuring it out recently but I admit I didn't spent to much time there.

I'm waiting with more games until current "nice" waves get fixed :D

Floating threat is not that bad - at least for me. You have general idea from where they will come from - and I have a habit of keeping scouts around. I admit I ddin't play with waves as cpa's tho.

Depends on whether you're playing the human equivalent of the "Nuclear Command" AI mod ;)
