I updated the wiki article with info on the Schizo modifier, and with an added 8th step that I forgot about.  There may be other omissions as well, but they are comparably minor and the article goes a good job of getting you into the right neighborhood on the wave size calculations, at least.  It's a complicated beast.

Do I understand correctly that recently seen waves of 40k or so are by design and they will stay that way?

No, the 40k counter-attack waves are significantly larger than by-design; how much so is still kinda up in the air as we figure out exactly how things were getting that big.

To elaborate, I've spent a good part of the day on investigating/diagnosing wave sizes and I'm not planning to move on until they done fixed ;)  Should still be plenty dangerous afterward, though.

I've been digging through mantis tickets on it for a while, but are there any non-counter-attack-post-related massive waves (other than raid posts, cpa posts, etc)?  Well, and not "I just detonated a mkIII nuke and simultaneously triggered EVERY counter-attack/etc post in the galaxy at the same time" ;D

Basically I spawned about 8 Omega Drives (each give +1000 AIP on death) and then managed to blow up my stashed Mk III nuke. That lead to "fun".

At first I was shocked until I saw the AI Progress. How in god's name did you get over 13,000 Progress with only one planet? Make it auto at 1000 a second or something? Or did you just get beaten back to your homeworld? Either way, how did you get THAT much progress?

wavecaps & excess ships from waves getting trimmed into special forces spawns instead of carriers on lower AIP?
