Still, the AI Eye does initially deter you from blobbing, but it might not fulfill its true purpose too well.
well... I hate attacking AI planets wiht an eye with a blob, so I use more tactics, or I use a beach head to snipe the thing out with sieges. With MRS gone the way it used to be, I actually need a few more units here and there to make certain critical strikes to be assured success.
But, I am off the same feeling that too much preassue on anti blobbing is being executed. I understand the reason to do it, but I think ther might be other ways to encourage not doing it.
One option, that I do not like myself is to take away player turrets. This realyl forces you to have two fleets. But it only resuslts in two smaller blobs.
But, if the AIs waves where a bit bigger, then turrets would not suffice. And already I see need for fleet ships in home defence already after the recent changes to waves and higher AIP.
All in all I am of the same sentiment that too much focus on anti blobbing is a bit unfavrouable to my style og gaming in AI War at least. I usually take some time to make an ok fleet then I push through, and sometimes a bigger fleet is actualyl needed
We shall see how it turns out, this is after all the first iteration.
