Whenever anyone tries to tell me whatever game they are playing at the moment (That isn't AI War) is difficult, I just laugh at them.

Yeah, you guys really need to avoid breaking the game on the weekends ;)  That's when a bunch of us are able to play the game :).

(hmm, maybe we should refrain from breaking the game on Fridays...).

+20 to this.  ;)
I'm all for game breaking changes, but please keep them during times where you can balance out the worse issues before your time off.  :P

I disagree - if you break it on fridays, you have all weekend to watch the tears ;)

I have to agree with Lance here... As someone that works weekends them breaking the game on friday keeps me entertained even when I can't play the game itself!

I'll open a Mantis Ticket suggesting that new suggestions be held off until Mondays.

Currently AI eye is just being repetitive game step which I just throw in some strike force to hit it
and run. I bring in my main force right after that as if eye did not exist. So yeah just a time eater.

Still, the AI Eye does initially deter you from blobbing, but it might not fulfill its true purpose too well.

well... I hate attacking AI planets wiht an eye with a blob, so I use more tactics, or I use a beach head to snipe the thing out with sieges. With MRS gone the way it used to be, I actually need a few more units here and there to make certain critical strikes to be assured success.

But, I am off the same feeling that too much preassue on anti blobbing is being executed. I understand the reason to do it, but I think ther might be other ways to encourage not doing it.

One option, that I do not like myself is to take away player turrets. This realyl forces you to have two fleets. But it only resuslts in two smaller blobs.

But, if the AIs waves where a bit bigger, then turrets would not suffice. And already I see need for fleet ships in home defence already after the recent changes to waves and higher AIP.

All in all I am of the same sentiment that too much focus on anti blobbing is a bit unfavrouable to my style og gaming in AI War at least. I usually take some time to make an ok fleet then I push through, and sometimes a bigger fleet is actualyl needed :)

We shall see how it turns out, this is after all the first iteration.

the AI eye could be rebalanced to replace command stations on AI planets where it seeds, exacting the 15 AIP penalty on destruction, allowing reinforcement and losing its warpgate abilities. That way players dont remove it unless they want to take the planet

That will either turn games into a slog or make big maps much much much harder to win than small maps due to less ARS/planet to keep human ship cap competive with AIP. It's not a bad idea, but there are some side changes that would need to be made.

A better idea would be replacing warp gates with them and give them the 5 AIP that warpgates have. 5 AIP isn't nearly as disastrous as 20 AIP and would incentivize many-planet strategies which are still a little weak compared to economy turtle + nomadic striking without making it entirely the way to go which making them replace command centers would do.

I would like to know what you all are doing to get to the firepower cap that isn't black widow or cursed golems. Even building 60k fleet ships doesn't quite seem to do it.

Playing a new game w/o capturing golems, but taking Spirecraft. Actually seems OK now...I had just tried a few games that all ended poorly by way of the the AI overwhelming me with waves 20min into the game, even though I had my entire MkI starting ship cap built. Was getting pretty frustrated...I suppose this mechanic may not be that bad, as long as I never encounter it doing something that I consider part of normal play (like creating a large fleet to take a particularly tough planet).

You can make 100k fleet ships on high cap and not get 10k firepower. If firepower amounts are an indication of how strong Arcen thinks things are, the currently high firepower things are generally far far weaker than that.

That's evil. I like it.
