Yea, I expect the Mime will be a source of many hilarious bugs ;)

It excludes any unit without an attack, and any unit without the ability to move.  Apparently it also needs to exclude any unit without the ability to travel through wormholes, though that would also exclude enclave drones, etc (though maybe those are already excluded by another rule).

Gotcha, just remember not to build any modular fortresses as part of a beachhead then. I think one of those could trigger a reprisal wave on its own.

EDIT: Oh man. Mobile, has an attack? Looking forward to my lightning missile reprisal waves!

I think someone did those once.
By which, I mean intentionally.  I told them to try and see if they could get Mime to send nukes (it can't).

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why mime shouldn't be allowed to play with fortresses- all part of the fun.
Or, in the case of modular and super fortresses, !!Fun!!.

I did. It mimed lightning and armored warheads, but not nukes.

It excludes any unit without an attack, and any unit without the ability to move.

Why should this be a limiting factor?  If a beachhead gets wiped out then the mime should perhaps send every single component of said beachhead - forcefields, turrets, space dock, engineers...

The AI throwing non-attacking units at you is like if the AI throws younglings at you: guaranteed kills, even if you lose the fight.

Do cleanup drones count as non-attacking?  How about space docks?

If the AI sends engineers at you, then won't that give it a chance to actually repair its units for once?

As funny as it is, I don't see a major issue with this.  I mean, no, they're not going to be able to pursue through a wormhole and so are of limited overall strategic threat, but things like this offer a certain level of extra tactical difficulty at the local level both in terms of the initial attack, and, should you lose the planet, your own counter-attack.  The idea of having the AI spawn one or more player-type Superfortresses is even more painfully amusing.

I would put this on the list of "unexpected, but awesome features".   You might want to check the Mime wave value for fortresses, mini-forts etc, for being in line, but this is awesome emergent gameplay.

I agree this is !fun! I don't think this needs "fixing". Balancing maybe (strength values).
