Crystal vs metal balance

Its not a huge deal, but crystal is currently more valueable than metal, was mostly wondering how much of this was intended.  When you look at the basic ships its about equal(cruisers need more crystal, bombers more metal).  However, all starships take more crystal than metal, most turrets take more crystal(in many cases somewhere between a 2:1 and 4:1 ratio of crystal to metal).  I haven't payed enough attention to the unique units to see where the balance there is, but I suspect its at best equal.

My question is has it just sort of drifted this way as we add more and more crystal heavy items or is this intended?

On the plus side, you cannot ignore metal completely, but crystal is clearly more important right now. 

If its not intended, It might be cool to have some of the turrets be more metal heavy(perhaps the mirv's and other missle types?), while having the energy types(lightning/laser) be more crystal heavy to encourage more strategic planning.

Same with the starships perhaps, could have one line be more metal heavy and one be more crystal heavy.

I typically run out of crystal way before metal, and it looks to me like there's a really heavy skew toward crystal in terms of unit costs. Few things seem to need more metal than crystal, while many require more crystal than metal.

I'd be very much in favor of switching the metal:crystal ratio for certain turret lines, and certain starship lines (the Dreads, maybe?) ..

I switched this for most starships, and most of the new experimental ships also favor metal over crystal.  Hopefully should address these concerns.
