How does an AI Barracks warrant invulnerability?

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

I seem to remember something about carriers and the like gaining invulnerability while there are too many AI ships on that planet, probably to prevent the spawning of all those to-be-released ships.

I guess that was the case. 2000 ships is a might bit low though.

Agreed, also I notice the number of ships contained by the barracks you have highlighted is merely 47 ships. My guess is that it's a blanket rule that is aimed at high-ship-count environments that vortexion mentioned, perhaps it is always in effect.

I'm curious what the source of the 74x invincibility is since the number is that high.

If you subtract the 74 from the 2000 odd cloacked ships in the system then it puts the ship count at 1960. Might that be the threshold? After I completed the nebula linked from that system, the barracks didn't have the invincibility (all those cloaked ships had left the system).

2032 -74 +47 = 2005

So, 2000 military ships is the limit?

I can easily see there being 5 AI non-military units in system. (Command station, warp gate, etc.)

Interesting mechanic anyways, but not something I remember hitting myself.

D.

We play on opposite ends of the spectrum D. I've noticed it before but didn't think anything of it.

Since then though, I've seen the AI pile up ship counts higher than that so I figured I would throw it out there and see what sticks :)

Hey! Another chris! \o/

I noticed a barracks with invincibility but if flicked off after a second or two so I thought I imagined it.
allergic to sensible plans.
