Now what?

I attempted a ninja raid on a command station (transports ftw by the way), which failed (i got in only losing one transports worth of ships, but i lost all of my bombers before the home command station went up). I'm now waiting for my fleet to rebuild, which is pretty boring (it's doing so in the background while i type). Anyone got any ideas to fix this up?

lead with a couple of empty transports(decoys). guide them past the defenders then off to a corner of the system.
This should pull the defenders out of position.
I'm guessing that the com station is under a FF?  Do you have any shoot-thru/move-thru FF units like Vampires?

Oh, i meant what to do while ships were building

But i plowed through the FF fairly quickly with 440 bombers and 80 bombards, and then pounded the command station as long as i could. I died while the command station was at no less than half health; i plan to go hunting for more ship types and knowledge, then i'll do another raid to clean up some of the junk on the home planet and guard (like data centers and orbital mass drivers).
