AI Super Terminal and Scout behavior.
« on: September 11, 2013, 04:21:06 pm »
2 questions.
What good exactly is the Super Terminal ? It reads it decreases AIP, but decreased floor. What does that mean ?
In my recent game, i hacked it and got constant messages of simultan -2 AIP and + 1 AIP ?!

Secondly, is there a way to tell scouts to NOT run for a systems borders, but just like other ships stay on top of the warppoint unless ordered otherwise ?

The superterminal causes both an increase in AIP-reduction and Unmodified-AIP.

The -2/+1 causes the unmodified AIP (the amount ever acrued) to rise slightly (which causes an increase in the AIP floor--the lowest value AIP can have after being reduced)

If you mouse-over the AIP at the top of the screen it'll break these values out for you.

The "floor" is the minimum amount that AIP can ever go to. Unless you're playing on very high difficulty or trying to get absolutely huge amounts of AIP reduction (several hundred), you'll never have to think about it.
