I could be persuaded to make them 1/2 health variants or something like that ;)

I couldn't say. Despite my paniced post, I don't actually play with Golems-hard. Even at 1/10th the health, their sheer firepower makes me want to stay far away from that.

In my experience the 1/10th health ones die instantly under the kind of firepower I tend to be throwing around when they show up.

Quote from: 5.002 Release Notes
The Armored, Black-Widow, Artillery, and Regenerator Golems used in exogalactic strikeforces are now different than the "standard" AI golems (like those used by the Golemite AI Type). The main difference is that they lack the 1/10th-health-of-a-normal-golem rule.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! YOU HAVE DOOMED US ALL!!!!  :o

Where are the release notes? I'm really curious

ARMORED!!! 500 million hp at 100k armor spewing out 5mil damage per 2 seconds?

Yeah, I feel (whatever word you choose)
Life is short. Have fun.

Sure, the current set is at http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Current_Post-5.000_Beta

After the next stable version, you should be able to get the link for release notes for the next beta cycle on the main wiki page http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War:Fleet_Command, specifically this section http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War:Fleet_Command#Release_History

Maybe the exo and event attack versions can have somewhere within 2/3 to 3/4 the HP of the normal versions? Seems like a decent compromise.

And if the 1/10th are really not all that scary, should they be bumped up to 1/5 or 1/4 or something?

Since you're fiddling with golems, any chance that you might take a look at botnet golems not being able to make zombies for ships that you're capped on? You know, while you're in that part of the code. ;D (I know, it's probably way more complicated than that and may have nothing to do with what you're doing right now. I am playing the part of the blissfully ignorant.)

Just noticed the patch notes. I resent being called a "trash-talker"...I just pointed out some minor weaknesses of the AI  ::)

I was just joking ;)  I've changed the note to say something that is hopefully more to the point.

But the golems, man, they're not happy ;)

They've simmered down a little bit, the new AI-advanced variant of the Armored golem has agreed to a 1/2 modifier (so it went from 1/10 => 1/2 for the exogalactics).  The others are keeping their full health but it's not as big a deal since they had less to start with, etc.

Er, they do? ;)  They're not supposed to.  They do tend to trigger the "threshold" for other stalking threat, however.

Anyway, due to Shrugging Khan's boasting of having too easy a time with those, the broken-golems-hard exos are about 15% stronger now, on the average.  Some other tricky logic thrown in for good measure ;)

Keep talking, bub, they're getting stronger as you speak ;)

Man...having developers that communicate so well is definitely a double edged sword!  :o ;) I'm joking. The amount of communication is fantastic in my very humble opinion.

First campaign has started for me :D All 3 Expansions enabled, all 3 Human Minor Factions and Broken Golems - Easy, with my first ship being Teleporting Raiders.

Thus far it's shaping up to be fun. I'm taking screen shots and keeping track of my progress so I can post it somewhere eventually.

You! You sneaky man! You edited the patch notes! That's not exactly fair play!
Although it is funnier that way, I suppose...

...argh, the golems!

No, really? i haven't played in a few weeks, so I totally failed and got my ass handed to me by a double 9.0 AI wave. Apparently, 9.0 is different from 8.0 in that it actually requires you to build defences. Pah.
