noob question about zenith reserve ships and depos

ok I'm in my 3rd game of AI wars and all 3 expansions i got them during the steam gift giveaway.

i have destroyed a supple depot that says it will give me alot of resources when its under enemy control and nothing now in this game i captured a Zenith Reserve Ships and a supplies depot and since they are now under my control I'm not able to destroy them.

what am i missing here?
 I've looked on the wiki and that does not not help pout nor does google

It's okay, you can just scrap them even though you can't attack them -- just hit the delete key with them selected, and you're all set!

thanks now i just have to get used to this game i still haven't won a game but are there any help on a noob friendly start i seem to get over whelmed because i misuse my knowledge and they get Mk3-4 ships while i have MK 2.

I'm paying on diff 6 atm

You just need better tactics. The AI will most always have better technology than you do until you earn it.

- Go out and explore the galaxy. Find strategic objectives that give you ships, toys, and resources. Note that this also allows you to get more knowledge to get better stuff.
- Don't go around taking every planet because you will quickly lose the arms race (or have another birthday in the process of grinding out a win).
- Take out guard posts, but leave one warp gate next to a well-defended planet. This will allow any incoming waves to go where you want them to and prevent buildup.
- Poke the bear every now and then to decrease build up, leading them back to your well-defended planet where you will destroy them.

The more stuff you turn on during game setup, the more things you need to juggle in general.  I found it very helpful to play with no expansions for my first few games to get a better feel for things without getting overwhelmed with all the toys (some of which are very nasty toys only the AI gets).
