hacking penalty in multiplayer question
« on: October 26, 2013, 06:35:37 pm »
I have been playing a multiplayer game with kahuna, and we both have a balance of 77+. If we try to hack knowledge simultaneously on the same planet, we go negative before getting all 3000 knowledge. Is that normal? Is it because we have been hacking all game long and that number is going to go down faster? It's unclear from the user interface how this is all working, and I feel like either something is wrong or I am not understanding the multiplier correctly.

Hmm, it should be similar to if you're hacking separately.  The later knowledge hacks do cost more than the earlier knowledge hacks (but if you did some other non-knowledge hack it doesn't increase the price).  If you mouseover the hacking progress number it should give you estimates on how much your next hack will cost, for each type of hack.  Is it not lining up with that?
