Green button in setup?
« on: October 26, 2009, 09:38:45 am »
There's a green button next to your name in the game setup screen. It turns red when you click it. Can someone tell me what this button does?

In single player, it has no effect.  In multiplayer, this is the "ready?" checkbox that is common in most recent RTS games.  In multiplayer, all of the players have to be "checked in" in order for the host to be able to start the game, to insure everyone is ready.  In solo play this is ignored, since it assumes that you are ready if you are clicking Start Game, since you're both the host and the only player.

Got it. Thanks. A "Ready" label might be useful there...

It did used to say Ready at one point. What ever happened to that?

It was deemed a localization issue, and so was replaced with green/red instead (mimicking Age of Empires III, which does the same thing, incidentally).  I'll probably handle that explanation as a tooltip, again for the reasons of localization concern with our international retail partners.
