Gatlings do not attack hybrids?

While playing my current game, I notice my gatlings which I released through a deep strike do not attack enemy hybrids at all. This is quite annoying because now the hybrids camp the dyson world killing defenseless units. can understand maybe not attacking the facilities for some reason I do not know, but I can't think of a reason the dysons shouldn't defend themselves.

Is this intended? If not I'll file a mantis report.

Yep, they can't attack mark V ships, which I think the hybrids are.  And if they are hostile gatlings to you, they won't attack other minor factions that are also hostile to you in any way.

gotcha. Annoying as it may be, I guess it is the price of fighting hybrids. I suppose I'll have to nurture my gatlings as usual to make them effective.

I'll just go ahead and confirm that Hybrids are mkV, since the zoomed-out graphics - and graphics never lie - display them with a big, fat V in their middle.

I thought that is was simply so that minor factions dont attack minor factions, period.

But thats an uniformed fan correcting a developer ...  ::) (perhaps I should not post this :D)

Hmm... I think that allied-to-you minor factions can attack other minor factions in theory... but I think that they are all pretty much mark V so that never happens.

I've seen friendly gatlings attack marauders, so I think Chris has it right.
