Gathering Knwoledge without supply??

Hi there,

I can gather knowledge on planets without supply.
The reasearch station shows me that it can't earn knowledge cause there isn't any supply on the planet but it funny gathers it by blinking red.

Can confirm, happened in a recent game. Was using a mk2 science lab to check distant ARS, and when I send champions to destroy the command station, they started gathering K despite being, oh, 3 hops (?) out of supply, surrounded by AI worlds.

There was a change made a few patches ago that permitted knowledge hacking when outside supply.  There's a Mantis report about the unclear interface at Mantis 012966.

Ah, thank you.. Only the interface description is wrong. So I can still gather with a good conscience.  :)

Any chance this could make it into the next patch? Its a stupidly minor thing, but still kind of annoying. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my flashing-red science lab for quite some time before I remembered this thread, and saw it was just a UI problem.

This was already in 7.045:

Apparently not. I just noticed it a moment ago in my current game when my advanced research station was flashing red on a world I didn't have supply on, but was still gathering knowledge. Latest patch and all that, no betas to download.

Guess I just found the one that slipped through the cracks? I notice the patch notes you quoted mention only mk1 and mk2 science labs, not ARS's.
