I love how people plan their in-game strategy based on the patch notes for the next beta  :D
I so want to add a line to the tutorial saying something like "Now be careful while capturing this ARS, the developer is going to nerf your most effective strategy in the middle." ;)
What's happening to ARSes?

I like your style!

That one slipped right past the profanity committee.  ;)

Ominous comments lead to player panic. As a result, 2/3 of the galaxy's ARS units are destroyed by infighting amongst player factions. Film at 11 ;)

So hunter killers are being implimented to break up the huge threat ratings? Just wondering as I just finished a game where I had over 20k threat at the end. Might have had something to do with the fallen spire arc, as I was never attacked by a special wave the entire game. The ai ships just roamed on thier planets. Good thing for me I guess.

The ultra-high threat thing was actually a longstanding bug brought into sharper relief recently.  It was the cause of CPA-mishaps back to 3.120 and before, and more recently combined with some newer logic to bring us massive-threat saves.

But, yes, hunter-killers are being implemented to compact that sort of thing a bit more.
