Future of ai war?
« on: October 07, 2013, 08:05:06 pm »
Been playing this game for a while now and was wondering if there are any new updates in the make.

Have  bought the game twice with all expansions and I really like it.

Are you guys going to make Ai War 2 someday ?

We will get back to updating it, yes, just been busy getting Bionic Dues out the door and I haven't had much extra time personally lately :)

It's very unlikely there will ever be an AI War 2 because one of the central points is to keep enhancing the original.  Generally sequels ditch some of the functionality of the original, and we wouldn't want to do that.

In general, while there are some possibilities for what we might do in a sequel, those things are better explored as separate games.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Cant wait for future expansions.

Was  also wondering why isnt there a lobby for multiplayer games?
A game like this should really have one to build up online communty.

Edit.
I am excited to play bionic dues tomorrow. Looks like a fun game from what I have seen on youtube.

An in-game MP lobby would be a ghost town, I'm afraid, as even though there's still an active community of players, the time each person spends in the game (and thus potentially in a lobby) but not actually playing it (and thus _still_ in the lobby) is very small.

But IRC integration has been explored, and will continue to be as time permits :)
