If Chris captures footage of him and his son dancing together, perhaps.
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

To tide you guys over, some updates in the release notes: http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Current_4.0_Beta

Also note the known issues section; it's a lot less than I'd expected to be there, honestly.

well, to be fair, you left yourself a lot of room for error. For example:
  • the lobby could be completely broken in multiplayer for all we know at the moment
  • Half the game has not been implemented
  • its hard to read most of the text on stuff
  • the buttons dont work

mostly kidding
edit: you should setup a forum somewhere for all the unity related bug reports..

Are you kidding!?  Compared to where I'd expected to release this for first beta, it's practically done.  Sure, there are a few windows, etc, but the list of things not missing is astronomical by comparison.  The bulk of the buttons are there and work just great, it's just a few that don't.  And by and large the text readability is awesome -- better than in the SlimDX versions, even -- there are just a few specific problem cases.

Don't make a mountain out of a molehill.  We'll send in the dyson gatlings. Also mostly kidding. ;)

But seriously, an enormous amount of work has gone into this, and we're soliciting feedback and testing on something that we know and you know is not yet finished, so that the finished thing works better.  But there will be bugs.  That's why this isn't a normal update in the old-updater chain.

edit: you should setup a forum somewhere for all the unity related bug reports..

Just the regular bug reports forum should suffice.  We don't plan on ever fixing any more bugs in the SlimDX version at this stage, that's essentially dead, so the unity version is taking over the bug reports forum.  Actually, just by moving to the unity version there are some longstanding bugs related to GDI, etc, that we can finally clear out.  All that lobby flicker and wrong-tooltip stuff... sheesh, at last.

;)

Well, it wasn't my intent to create a disclaimer -- this version kicks the pants of the older versions already.  Just wait until you see the new special effects in action, or half a dozen other things.  Man it's so much better.  But, I also don't want bunches of reports about stuff we just haven't gotten to yet, or people flipping out because X feature doesn't work yet and they're surprised.  I was actually super surprised how short that known issues list already is; it's been a crazy, crazy week.

Nope, we never include new music in our betas.  You'll have to wait a few more weeks!

Just about.  The last few touches on the updater, and then the installer itself, are all that remain.  But I suspect I'm going to have to feed my son just about any minute now, so that will set me back another hour.  But, it's coming right along, anyway.  There's just... always... more than expected... *falls to ground*

Okay, my son did have to eat, but he did it in record time... we'll see if he stays asleep now.  Time to finish that updater and installer. :)

Bear in mind it's likely only going to be the windows version tonight.  The mac version was working, last I checked, but it's too late and too much time to get that fully out tonight.  Most likely in the next couple of days on that one; we want to make sure that gets enough testing, too.  But honestly I'm less enthused about putting that too out early because some new players on that platform who are new to the game might be tempted to play it in an incomplete state that I wouldn't wish as their first experience with the game.  As soon as the tutorials are in there, I'll feel better, at least.
