Can anybody tell me the command to spawn one? I can not seem to get it to work.

My command is (ilostit,wraithlanceguardpost,0,0,1,8)

Can anybody tell me what is wrong with the command.

Credit to Alphanos from another thread (will link below):  change the name of the guard post; see below for an example:

The "name" of units does not necessarily match their in-game name, if that makes sense.  I'm pretty sure in this thread Keith mentions how to get the names, but I don't remember where.

The response from the game should be "You want me to do what?  You have, indeed, lost it."

Let me know if sensor hacking or using Spire Jumpships works.

I am *very* interested to see your results, as in my current game I was granted full map vision after an Eye Bot wave killed me and discovered one of the homeworlds has a Wrath Lance.  Never faced one before.

Tadrinth, I imagine its danger varies significantly with difficulty. I encountered a wrath lance guardpost in my (to date) only victory, on 7/7, recognized it as the greatest threat, and killed it off with minimal casualties simply by choosing to enter the wormhole closest to it, moving to its hub to maximize my fleet's angular velocity relative too the wrath lance, and staying ahead of the rotating lances while firing. Given the damage output of my fleet, it went down quickly and all it killed were a few stragglers that I didn't micromanage well enough.

I imagine that coupled with any guard post that seriously interferes with movement or targeting it could be truly brutal, but when the others were generic damagedealing types, not so much. It only had 60 million health, so once it was in range it died in seconds.

Again, this was on 7/7 and with a larger fleet than one would have by playing minimum AIP games, but at least on that difficulty it wasn't too bad.

I have found something very interesting. It is possible to thread lighting torpedoes in where there are tiny slivers that the beams can not hit. It is also possible to try and instabuild a ton of force fields relatively close to block the beams and repair them between each passing allowing a fleet to get in without dieing.

That game is on diff 10/10 (I'm trying to get the Double Godlike achievement).  I know there's a Core Raid guard post on that homeworld, not sure what else.  I have a lot of lobby cheese enabled, so I'm sure I can find something to counter it.

When you say thread lightning torpedos in, do you mean there is an angle from which you can approach a wrath lance where it will pass over the attackers without doing harm?  IE, you just park all your lightning torpedo frigates at just the right spot out of range and the torpedoes fly right up to the wrath lance and kill it?

When the wrath lance spins, there are places that extend outward from the wrath lance in very thin lines the beams do not hit. You can position your torepdo frigates so the torpedos slip right down these thin lines of safety and take down the wrath lance that way.
