forcefields and shields
« on: January 14, 2010, 07:47:53 pm »
its come to my attention that forcefield bearers actually do have shields, something I didn't really think would matter on a forcefield.. but apparently it does.

My question is.. does this make them any more useful than I thought they were? I would imagine a decent amount of shields (see: space tanks) would make a difference...
It seems they all have 4k shields, which means only frigates can really shoot thruogh that..

Anyway; Does anyone actually use them?

I don't, their health is pitiful for a forcefield and it's a real pain in the neck to get them to cover a decent amount of ships.

I'm quite sure that when I had them their shields were not exactly useful.

Mainly because unit shooting at something near the FF Bearer will not count bearers shield for it's chance to hit I guess. Maybe it's time to bug this or move to balance tweak thread for FF Bearers.
