FF Generator paralysed

Really loving this game, working my way through an 80 star map with medium AI and a lot of the plots activated, but I stumbled across something kind of strange, and thought I should make a post about it in case I'm mistaken before putting it on Mantis?

I had just set up a new planet, force field generators built and working, and started raiding a neighbouring planet - the AI retaliated with a small group and a handful of EMP Guardians - however, when the EMP Guardians arrived, my Force Fields became paralysed too, and subsequently stopped projecting a field. I checked the unit description and I think it said that they were immune to paralysis, but at the same time had a paralysis countdown timer at the top of the description.

If indeed it is a bug, it's not a big deal, but I can imagine some people might be very surprised when a large wave jumps in with EMP ships  ;D

Edited to add another question:

I know force fields affect the damage done by ships/turrets underneath them (barring the ones listed, sniper etc), but do they stop tractors beams working if the tractor beams target is outside the radius of the field, but the tractor beam itself is inside it?

The tooltip may be confusing, but EMP is different from Paralysis - immunity to one does not confer immunity to the other.  Force fields are immune to paralysis (such as that caused by Z Paralysers), but not to EMP weapons.

Also, being under a forcefield ONLY affects damage.  It does not affect tractor beams, gravity turrets, or anything like that (and assuming their radius is big enough, putting your tractor turrets under a force field is a great idea).

I see what you mean now (I had made a save just in case), saw on the Spire Shard that it has Paralysis AND EMP immunity, I hadn't realised that EMP was a separate effect - I think what threw me off was the that the timer said paralysis
