Well...if you leave your superweapon to sit outside and bask in incoming fire, then yeah - no wonder it falls apart. You're meant to give them a good helping of fleet support!

Armored.

Thing is near immortal and does lots of damage.

nothing exciting about it, but it feels like the strongest of all the golems (apart from maybe botnet golem).

If only it weren't so sorrily vulnerably to Anti-Starship guard posts  >:(

Oh yes.. those Anti-Starship Guard Posts.. wow.. and those new "Implosion Guard Post".. OH-MaGod. Yesterday I was messing around with cheats and I spawned myself an AI Mark V Hunter/Killer and a Mothership... I attacked a planet with 5 Implosion Guard Posts and both of them dropped to about 5% health in a couple of seconds LOL. Same with Armored vs Anti-Starship posts.

Perhaps these "Anti-BigStuff" things are a bit OP?

My favorite golem is the one that I can actually get my hands on.  The things always seem to be parked on the other side of the galaxy, in some neighborhood I'd really rather not visit, while sticking me with the exos...

I just know found out about them being absolutely oppity-OP. Well, maybe it just necessitates a change of tactics...but those things are way scarier than OMDs!

I don't think Implosion ships are OP, and yes I have gone into a system and watched an armoured golem, and two MKV Devastators reduced to smidgens of health in seconds. However this to me just means I should have been more observant and sent fleetships to deal with those first.

(I was feeling particularly powerful with my MKV Dev Fab and the massive amount of HP and firepower these ships had, so I just wandered into a border planet to the core world to test them out. An expensive decision to say the least)

I think ant starship posts are fine.

What I dont like are implosion guardians. they have a very, very disproportionate impact against the player.

There is something wrong when the answer to.a guardian is to micro, considering it is the only guardian whose answer is to micro. Considering other guardians dont elict a similar response, that is a serious sign that they are relatively overpower. The difference between guardians and posts is that posts are one shot.

Well, as said, maybe it just takes different tactics. Still, those Imploders seem like quite a bit more of a game-changer than their appearance would imply.

Those ships are heavily demoralizing to face since each one of their bullets can cost a couple 100k of resources. But then this loops right back to why ships with force fields are so fantastically strong in this game, a group moving blob covered by a champion/shield bearers/spire corvettes/spire destroyers can ignore implosion ammo and will lose 1 force field per anti-starship post bullet.

Back to the thread subject, my favorite golems are the not regen/hive since they all work great with a group-moved blob kiting tactic. Overall my favorite is probably the cursed since it is by far the least expensive so i can leave it turned on without killing my economy.

I think this is no small part connected to

Those ships are heavily demoralizing to face since each one of their bullets can cost a couple 100k of resources.

Implosion guardians on a tactical sense are strong, but not necessarily OP. However, because the targets they hit directly targets the most expensive targets by percent damage, the result is on a strategic sense the guardians are very, very devastating. So in the end, they still have a disproportionate effect on the player.

They were meant to counter large stuff. Main problem is that it scales with target. Unit that can almost kill golem in few shots is OP. They lack some kind of damage cap per shot maybe?

Actually sounds like a decent idea.

It is OK that they deal grevious percent damage to starships, but when they do so to golems, they really devalue what are supposed to be superweapons. It is true the player has had access to these craft for a long time, but they are less effective in player hands because when the AI sends golems they are less "super" weapons and more "placeholders for other stuff" craft.

Agreed. All implosion stuff should have a damage cap. This should apply to human and AI ones (though other than AI superweapons and core forcefields, it should be set high enough such that this would rarely trigger when used by humans)

Point of reference, a damage cap would not be out of the ordinary. Units that have scaling damage, like those with scaling armor and energy, still have somewhat tame damage levels in the big picture.
