Multiplayer and trial mode
« on: September 08, 2012, 02:35:00 pm »
Hi ho!

I was under the impression that if you played a multiplayer game and you were, say 2 people with all expansions unlocked and a third player with one on trial, you could still play fully as long as the host had the expansions unlocked.

Am I mistaken?

When I joined your game, tackle drones were selectable on map, even through only simple types were available when I create AS game. So I'm not sure.

I think for expansions, all players have to own and have all enabled expansions installed. The base game, it doesn't matter, those turn the game into trial mode. That's just for multiplayer, though.
I might be completely wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere I just can't find the source.

Obviously, but I was under the impression that expansions didn't have to be unlocked to play MP with them, as long as the HOST had them unlocked. (everyone naturally has to have them installed)

I'm not so sure you can play the expansions with people if the people don't have the expansions actually unlocked.
Yeah, if you mouse over the enable/disable expansion thing in the lobby, it says something that gives me that impression. It makes me think that "available and installed" means "Activated in full with a key, and installed on the computer".
