Erasing Control Groups?
« on: October 21, 2010, 12:26:21 pm »
First of all, you guys are great! I started playing AI War a few weeks ago, and I love this game. I've also checked out this forum quite a bit and you guys are great when it comes to responses on any post.
That being said, I have maybe a silly question, but I can't figure it out...

I've got the newest release (3.8 I think) and I just began experimenting with control groups. So... how do you delete them? I tried creating one with empty space selected, but that's not working for me. Any suggestions?  ???

Thanks!

I'm not sure there is a way to do that, actually.  You can assign it to a single ship, thus clearing it from what you were using, and if that ship dies... ;)

Thanks for your support!

Being able to remove control groups would be quite handy, I've got quite a few now which are not being used but are increasing the size of the planetary summary. What about Alt + Left click on the control group icon to remove it? That'd be nice and simple.

EDIT: Just realised, that wouldn't allow you to subtract that control group from a selection. Control + Alt+ Left click would probably do the trick though, unless there's something else I'm forgetting...

On a related note: is there a way to remove priorities from a certain planet? I can change once I defined one, but haven't found how to remove it yet.

Click on any priority, then move over the planet you want cleared and right-click it.

For the control groups I tend to find a something that I have in abundance, assign it as the only member of the control group then scrap it.

Yeah there's always that ;-)

I thought that simply selecting the ships in the control group and hitting ctrl+alt+# would remove them from control group #, thus presumably clearing it if they were the only ones in it.

He speaks the truth! You know, in the years I've been playing this game, I never actually knew you could do that until now >< It's always been something that bugged me.
