Spire corvette and hybrid hives?

Are spire corvettes supposed to be valid escorts for hybrid hives? Because they seem to be in my current game, which seems kind of weird for a starship.
EDIT: Not to mention a bit aggravating, given how hybrid hives tend to "clump up", and thus causing their escorting corvettes to do so too.

Perhaps hives just pull from starships in general and the AI just happened to unlock spire corvettes?

I don't think I've seen Starships as hybrids' escorts. Maybe Hybrids use_bonus_ships and the 3 triangle ships and the AI had Corvettes unlocked?

I'll double check the logs to see if corvettes are indeed being spawned as escorts.

In this case, yea, one of the AIs did get spire corvettes as an unlock.

This seemed familiar, so back to the Historymobile:

Yes, Hybrids can get bonus starships, and Super Hybrids will prioritize Spire Corvettes.

Ah, so it is intended behavior...
