I just got at least 12 backburner kills by camping behind a teleporter exit. Then the round ended. I think they were making fun of...something. Me. Themselves. Existential indifference.

It's hard to make fun of someone with a killstreak of 12, especially when it's such a trolly (and easily avoided) death.

I think that's the point..."Don't think you're skilled, we're just suicidal!".

Epic fail comms combined with a "pants-on-head-retarded" Engineer.

Camping enemy teleporters is a very valid tactic (I do it all the time myself & hate when I have a camped exit a teammate destroys) but you shouldn't be able to get more than a few kills before the Engineer respawns & destroys the exit unless they're devoid of a clue.

Stuff like that is very situational though. For example I got 57 destructions as demoman without dying once & my rampage was only stopped by my team winning the round. It was the day after the Engineer update released & I had a friend playing medic with me on cp_steel.

However this is a bit of a digression from the topic  :)

Isn't that pretty much what we do here?  It's practically a miracle if a thread stays on topic for more than a page or two.  I'm beginning to suspect the A in AI War stands for ADD.

It's not like the AIW forum is busy, these days. I think us people lurking here day in, day out, deserve a little OffT now and then.

I'm not complaining or anything.  I definitely do my part in keeping us off topic as much as possible, just like everyone else.  I just think it's funny that I help run a mental health support site, and the ADD sub-forum there, which is generally prone to getting off topic more than usual, manages to stay on topic more than we do here lately.  Heh.

I think OffTopic is beneficial to all but the  busiest of internet boards (like the one-thread-a-minute minecraft forums). It keeps people active and present, and ready to reply to any questions anyone might have.

Well, there are newbs occasionally. Like, one per week. Better for some people to be paying attention so the newb in question can be helped ASAP  ;)

There's usually a lot more guest activity than registered poster activity. Like right now, I see 7 registered users and 33 guests reading. I just assume that there are a legion of people reading these posts who are too shy and/or lazy to actually register and join in the conversation.
