EMP Guardians Last Too Long?

After one detonated on my planet and EMPed my planet for 20 seconds (though admittidly, it was a Mk. IV EMP gaurdian), I'm wondering if the EMP guardians are a little too good at their job.

Compared to what you're able to do to the AI with EMPs, 20 seconds is pretty tame!

Well, Emp guardians get to set off their EMP many times compared to the player, and don't even take any AIP for it!

Uhm, I was being kinda sarcastic there, suggesting that Emp guardians were just like EMP warheads, especially in that when the AI detonates them, it gains AIP, meaning it becomes more powerful :D

The first time I learned my lesson. I aggrevated a planet that had them and then hearing a sequence of booms, seeing 2 of my planets nuked and the last one just arriving at my home base without me having time to respond.

Btw? Is there any AI that gets more of them?

Oh god I hope not. Having just a few is enough for me thanks...

Edit: New AI type, All ships release a planet-wide, Enemy only EMP burst on entering a planet, lasts <mark> seconds, stacks with more ships.

What I think IS unfair -- assuming I read the text right the one time it's happened to me -- is that the AI got +6 AIP from detonating its own frickin EMP. Talk about insult to injury.

(Or maybe I had an untended EMP floating around that planet that got triggered... in which case joke's on me.)

Uhhh... whoops. Would an EMP on the other side of the planet get triggered by another EMP blast? It's hard to believe even I would be careless enough to have a warhead just sitting on the front lines, but I guess tis possible...
