Early Copy of 2.0 (Get Yours)!

For anyone who wants the full 2.0 installer, that's up through GameTrove.  (AcidWeb, if you want to mirror this again, I'll update your site's listing, too).  I'm just holding off on the official announcement here until things are finished being set up on Steam.

Files will be at server in next 20min.

It is on the sidebar on the main site, too, and it will be featured in our upcoming 2.0 release news post, but I'm still waiting on Steam at this stage.

I've gotta mention it but the retrospective should also showcase explosions and shot effects ;p 

Anyhow - its really astounding.. The game grew from really ugly in 1.005 (when i bought it - with a unreadable radar! ;p) to very nice looking rts - and i think with some of the next patches (if x4000 finds the time) the game will go from very nice to absolutely awesome state of the art sprite graphics ;p The foundation is all there now.

The energy/supply concepts were added too - lots of bugs squashed and trillion units added, which other game developer could match that, with a free patch! There are game developers who wouldn't even release so many things and changes as expansions (fallout 3, anyone?) they'd had us billed 3 times 60$ for next iterations of the game (Dominions anyone?).

I think this update truly goes in history as the largest single game changing update/revision that a indy dev ever did, and released for free to his customers.

And i am really proud to be part of this community and event

     Wow, the retrospective really blows me away.  I'm pretty much a newbie (didn't find out about the game until 1.007) and the change even since my first look is amazing.  Each update seemed pretty big but to see them all added up and the before/after side-by-side.. whoa!

That and Bugs. But honestly, half the fun of playing Bethesda games is using the mod tools to fix the bugs.

Hello everybody, new to the forum and to the game. I got mine earlyer today

When I opened steam, it had the game in the update page that shows up. And I got intrigued by it. And I started looking for gameplay videos on youtube, which there are not that many, so I could understand what the game was about. But after reading about it, it sounded very good. So I bought it

It reminds me of "Star Trek: Armada II" which is still a good game, but "AI War: FC" has alot of new and better features, like the AI and massive armies

I just played the 2 first tutorials, didn't had much time for the others. Looks very good. Congrats for v2.0!



A few notes. The trailer on steam doesn't have any audio. Neither the low-res version, neither the HD one. And also when I try to update the game, through the menu, it says "Unable to launch updater!" don't know why.

Hey alex2005, welcome!

Glad to hear you're enjoying AI War so far. Thanks for reporting the issue with the trailer, we'll got that sorted as soon as possible. The in-game updater is (supposed to be) disabled in versions of AI War that were purchased through distribution platforms such as Steam and Impulse, as those platforms manage game updates themselves. The update button should be grayed out on the menu - I'll look into that.

Feel free to post any suggestions you have in our suggestions forum. Enjoy playing AI War!

By the way, Chris should put the AI War demo on steam. The store page of games with demos on steam includes a very obvious link to the demo, and I think that having the demo so close at hand would be helpful in getting more people trying and buying the game.

All right! The demo is on Steam now. Only problem so far is that it doesn't actually work... It also keeps wanting to install .net 3.5 and slimdx, even though I already have them. My non-Steam copy still works fine, so it is a Steam issue.
