I really hate acid sprayers.

They are either overpowered(you are facing a zenith descendant or zenith loving AI, they cuddly hug  everything in sight.) or useless (No zenith, not really any effect).
And yet simultaneously in AI hands a BAZILLION get thrown at you if they do, which either renders your z-ships utterly useless... or simply is a huge pain in the ass. (They're harmless--but tremendously hard to kill due to their speed, shielding, health, and I suspect what multipliers are levied against them, or more accurately not.)

As for my other useless items--no warhead legitimizes the AIP cost to me really except in rare cases Lighting Warheads. Armored being definitely the greatest joke. I can see how nukes COULD be useful... But can usually avoid said with some effort.

I also find armor ships to be... less than satisfying. They really hold little purpose. Sure they do pretty well vs turrets, but so do bombers which you always have. And tractors still pretty much laugh them off... Furthermore a nearly pure anti-turret unit is... less than thrilling.

Counter missile turrets are just silly. No idea what would be dangerous enough against a fixed encampment to necessitate one.

As for my vote against space tugs--they interact very poorly with Teleport ships. And really I am a micro-whore so my ships going off doing things on their own gets on my nerves.

Same can be said of any ships.  "Sure it has a purpose, but the fighters/bombers/frigates fill the same purpose."

We should take a step back and ask if every unit in the game is suppose to be useful all the time?  I would say no.

armour ship weapon ignores shields. consequently, they are great at rolling over spacetanks, grenade launchers and any other unit with high shielding/low hp

I thought armored warheads were just an armored version of a lightning warhead until I noticed it had 10 times the cost and half the speed. Unless that extra armor lets it survive long enough to get to its target, which a Lightning warhead with its superior speed couldn't reach because of weapon fire, I don't really see the value in the trade-off here with 10x the price in AIP unless the blast radius is significantly larger.  ???

Tis true, but on the other hand that gives you a lot of (free) power against Zenith AI Types..

perhaps , but maybe we deserve this boost as the enemy will build it way more than we do
