well, that kinda puts them back at turrets, even if they are mobile. (or, well, forts)

If the turtle AIs used stationary guardians in greater numbers than mobile guardians.... more of a incredible static presence over more the threatening 'loves to remove player turrets'

I think a variant on the AI eye would be an excellent idea for a turtle type AI. Basically, give the thing more health, and let it shoot back and move. That would make raiding them far more difficult, perhaps to the point that you would need to take those guys out last after you've hopefully taken out a few guard posts.

Just imagine fighting this thing as it shoots back and kites your fleet and spews ships out at you :D
