Differences in AI Levels

Ok this has been bothering me for a while...

x4000, think you could share what the difference between each AI level is, in tactics and wave sizes and such. :D

Couldn't really tell you, it's scattered all over the place, honestly.  The wave sizes and such are in a chart that I posted a while back, but I'll include it again here.  You need to multiply the AI Progress x10 in this chart.  And for the actual wave sizes, on some of the levels (6 and up, I think) you also need to start multiplying them x2 or more.  So it's pretty out of date in a lot of ways, honestly.

I don't keep track of all the little tweaks for the various difficulty levels because they are so spread out, and because it's just something I decide as I go through each tactic:  at what level can people start handling this?  I'd have to go through a few thousand lines of code to find all that out at this stage, and I'm not sure how actionable that information would really be in general.  Sorry! :)

Ok. Kinda sucks that we'll never know.

Do you know in other games?  I think some things are better left as slightly mysterious.  But mainly, there just isn't time right now for me to go digging through code to extract that sort of data, and I think the audience for that is fairly limited.  Perhaps something like that might be feasible later, after 2.0, but I don't know what the workload will be like then.  This is one of those requests that take too much time for too little result, and so have to go kind of on the "maybe sometime way in the future" list just because I'm already working insane hours and my list grows rather than shrinks.  I'm not trying to offend anyone by not doing their feature or whatever, but with the influx of new players the requests volume is higher than ever and there's just simply no way any one person can ever handle it all.

Oh, I don't really mind at all that you can't. Just woulda been nice to know what the differences are, since I only play 7 and 8s anyway, it doesn't really affect me. Just curious is all. :]
