There are no glaring mistakes in the Getting started guide.

I'm not sure about the tutorial page. Is it going to be useful?

Any ideas on the formatting? I'm good at getting the information up there but I have a tendency to wall-o-text it.

As for the tutorial page, I'm not sure. Maybe summarize the tutorials and what they are supposed inform the player of?

Re: Formatting.
- Each aspect of the game is fine under its own sub-section. I think the blurb is useful for defining why that section exists, and then either table or list the primary options players can use. Give me a moment to re-format a section.
EDIT: Reformatted the Defending section.

EDIT2: Where did the Mobile Builder go?

Re: Tutorials.
- Yeah, that might work. Perhaps the page could just describe the main points of the tutorial, at least until the last one. I don't think we need to transcribe anything since the reader should have the game and can just play it again. :P

EDIT3:
What need do you see of a sortable table in the wiki on some of the ship-stats? See the draft tables I put up on the ship immunities page. If we could pull it straight from the spreadsheet, it'll be easy to define a big table and quickly show which ships are immune to, say, minor electric or EMPs.
If done, I'd suggest pooling hull-types immunities and ammo-types (including Area) into one table, and specials (EMPs/Paralysis/Mines) and special immunes into another. Ignore armour for now.

Okay, had a chance to look at what you've done.

I like the reformatting, even just adding the bullets at the front helps I think. Also your edits to the text help, having that second person look it over really helps the readability.

I'm not going to have a chance to update anything myself until the weekend probably, we'll see what I come up with then.

Mobile Builder? Apparently it does not exist? Hmmm. Will have to make the page.

Tutorials: Ya, a summary of each tutorial with both the concepts and commands it tries to teach would be best I think.

Ship-stat tables: Oh, you can do that? Nice.
I like the idea in concept and it would be useful for finding out immunities to counter something for sure. How much work was it to setup? They would also have to be on their own separate tables page for space reasons I think.

I'll be able to do some sporadic things here or there until late next week when Chris & I activate the move to Germany.

Table: I built what was there by hand - it'll take a long time to manually draw from each entry and ctrl-c/v the yes and no boxes, and be a pain to manually upkeep if random changes keep popping up. The current meadiawiki css doesn't have a collapsible option, I think, otherwise they could sit tucked away until the player needs it.

Argument against it is the sheer size of maintenance, and finding out too easily that only two bonus ships are immune against the thing you want. :P :P

I'll draw attention to the general community in a separate topic..

Excellent idea on the ship immunities table.  I remember going through all the ships myself looking for insta-kill immunity; this would have saved me the trouble.  And I learnt things just by looking through your draft - who knew Deflector Drones were EMP-immune?!

The patch notes seem pretty comprehensive, so I wouldn't have thought maintenance would be a huge deal.

Well, building the list itself will require more effort than I can give at the moment - it's more that if we can pull it from a csv or the shipdat files....

Don't spend too much time trying to do things by hand.

Now that I've seen how the tables work on the wiki I should be able to automate it.

No idea on when I can get to it though.
