Also, I find it hilarious that we already have a "I will never update to 3.152 or above" selected.  Good luck with that, whoever. ;)

I voted no but I think it would be more accurate to say I've only done it once. I figured it was the thing to do at the time, it helped me win my first game but I've never had a decent chance to do it since then. I took an outpost and raided maybe 6-8 adjoining worlds and let the outpost collapse when my next CPA arrived. Other than that one time its never worked out for me.

I voted "Can't win without it!!" and "will never update" (that one is in humor as i can't live without the constant injection of new DLC :P )

Every time a new DLC arrives, I'll die a little inside knowing that I'll never have the KN needed to unlock it.  :(

I didn't realize knowledge raiding was an exploit. I thought it was legitimate.

Well, knowledge raiding is legitimate, but it's meant to be really, really hard and not something routinely done.

As far as there not being enough knowledge for unlocks, that's a completely different discussion, eh?  The knowledge-per-planet could always be adjusted upwards as the game evolves and there is more content competing for the players' attention.  However, at the moment I've been viewing this as "more opportunities for specialization" rather than "more opportunities to have everything at once."

But knowledge balance and ease of knowledge raiding really should be unrelated discussions -- it's only another sign that knowledge raiding had become too core of a thing that the discussions get blurred in that way, and makes me even gladder of the heavy knowledge raiding nerf.

The more I think about it, the more some sort of per-planet knowledge cap buff makes some good sense, with the recent additions of so much stuff people want to use.  I would think maybe something small... 2250 instead of 2000, or something. 2500 at absolute most, but that seems like it may be close to overkill.

doesnt one of the tutorials teach you how to k-raid, or at least the basics?

(also, isnt it slightly broken for the moment if so?)

It's been so long... yes, probably so.  Definitely would need to be fixed, in that event.

I like it a nice round number like 2,000 or 3,000.

Perhaps you could make the knowledge per planet dependent on the number of planets in the galaxy?

Because it seems to me (noob as I may be) that taking away knowledge raiding makes smaller maps even harder.
