Exploitative Tactics: The Super Cruiser
« on: July 13, 2009, 05:36:34 pm »
A Space Tug and a Cruiser can cooperate to create an ultra-fast long range attacker.

I have watched this thing fly circles (technically, squares, but you get the point) around the enemy for literally 3 minutes (It started on red health). If any shots finally do catch up they presumably have so little energy left that they're almost guaranteed to miss.

This is a great point -- when space tugs are given an explicit movement order, I think they should drop whatever they are holding.  This will prevent this whole class of possible exploits, and I think it makes sense in general, anyway.  You're good at finding these. :)

It also works real nice with the repair station being grabbed by a tug and flying it around to wherever repairs are needed.

Didn't figure it was worth posting after my previous bug report in the tug bugs thread since it would be fixed anyway, but it worked like a charm. :P

Haha, yeah, that would be fixed by both of these fixes, actually.  But that's a quite interesting exploit, too, to be sure.
